My Approach

Self-Authenticating Wills Drafted According to Texas Law

Having properly written and executed Estate documents prepared is one of the best investments that you can make for yourself and your loved ones. Give yourself the peace of mind of knowing that you family has what they need to take care of things in the event of your incapacitation or death. It is the best way to ensure that your family has the freedom and space to grieve and focus on one another in the wake of your loss.

Primarily online— convenient and flexible to meet YOUR needs

Through my work, I observed that a large obstacle for people being proactive in their Estate Planning is the lack of flexibility found in scheduling with traditional law firms. With Legacy Legal, you will have the ability to schedule consultations and meetings via zoom, outside of the traditional 9 am - 5 pm office hours held by most law firms. No more having to take time off of work to drive across town to meet with an attorney in their office multiple times to get your Will package drafted and executed. Every step of our process takes place online, from the comfort of your own home, on a schedule that works for YOU.

Unfortunately, Texas Law does not allow for virtual execution of these documents, so our final meeting, at which you will sign and execute the documents in your estate package, will need to take place in person in Austin, Texas or Conroe, Texas.**

Step One: Intake and Scheduling

First, you will need to complete an intake form. This is a critical step in ensuring that I have all of the information that I need in order to properly draft your Will and other Estate documents. Once you submit that form, you will receive a link to my Calendar to schedule your consultation.

Begin Intake

Four-Step Process

Step Two: Consultation and Payment

Next, we will meet virtually for our consultation. Together, we will review the information that you provided during intake and discuss how to best achieve your goals for managing your estate and passing your assets.

A standard Will Package includes your Will, Statutory Durable Power of Attorney, Medical Power of Attorney, Directive to Physician, Declaration of Guardian (for self and/or minor children), HIPPA Authorization, and Disposition of Remains.

Individual’s standard Will Package: $825

Couple’s standard Will package: $1300

After our consultation, you will receive a link to make your final payment.

Step Three: Draft and Revise

Once payment has been received, I will prepare drafts of your personalized estate documents and will email them to you for your review.

We will schedule a follow up call to discuss any concerns or questions that you have, if any.

If revisions are necessary, I will make them prior to our final meeting.

Step Four: Execute your estate plan

We will meet in person for you to sign and execute your documents. This meeting will include you, your two disinterested witnesses, and myself, acting as notary.

You will need two individuals who are not beneficiaries in your Will to come and witness your signature.

The Witnesses must be over the age of 14.

Family friends, neighbors, or extended relatives make excellent selections. Ideally, you want this person to be someone who knows you well enough that they can attest to the fact that you are in your right mind and acting on your own wishes at the time you sign.

If you are unable to procure your own witnesses, we can discuss the possibility and cost of hiring local notaries to serve as your witness(es).
